KIOXIA introduces EXCERIA BASIC SSD series for affordable PCIe 4.0 upgrades

KIOXIA Europe GmbH today announced the launch of the EXCERIA BASIC SSD Series, a new addition to its Consumer SSD line-up, delivering the speed of PCIe 4.0 performance at a price everyday users can afford.

Designed for consumers who want to breathe new life into their PC or notebook without overspending, the EXCERIA BASIC Series is the ideal upgrade from older SATA or PCIe 3.0 drives. With sequential read speeds of up to 7,300 MB/s[1] and write speeds of up to 6,800 MB/s[1], users can expect faster boot times, quicker file transfers, and smoother multitasking – whether at work, at home, or on the move.

Available in capacities up to 2TB[2] and in the popular M.2 2280 form factor, the EXCERIA BASIC SSDs offer the perfect balance of performance, reliability, and value. Backed by KIOXIA's decades of innovation as a global leader in flash memory, the series combines cutting-edge PCIe 4.0 (Gen4x4) technology with competitive pricing that stands out in a crowded market.

The EXCERIA BASIC SSD series joins KIOXIA's existing consumer SSD line-up, which also includes the EXCERIA PLUS and EXCERIA PRO series. Designed as an affordable entry point to PCIe 4.0, the EXCERIA BASIC is ideal for users looking to upgrade from SATA or older PCIe standards. The EXCERIA PLUS series caters to those seeking higher performance, with options for both PCIe 4.0 (G3 model) and PCIe 5.0 (G4 model).

The EXCERIA BASIC SSD Series will be available in Q4/2025.
