De XG6-serie maakt gebruik van het nieuwste 96-laags 3D TLC-flashgeheugen (3-bit-per-cel) van KIOXIA. Met de 4e generatie BiCS FLASH™ en SLC cachefuncties bereiken XG6 SSD's tot sequentiële lees-/schrijfsnelheden van respectievelijk 3.180 MB/s en 2.960 MB/s en leveren ze tot 355.000 willekeurige lees- en 365.000 willekeurige schrijf-IOPS. Naast de hoge prestaties zet de XG6 het ontwerp met laag vermogen van de XG-familie voort, met een verbruik van 4,7 W of minder in de actieve modus en minder dan 3 mW in de stand-bymodus.
De nieuwe XG6-serie is geoptimaliseerd voor energiegevoelige mobiele pc's, prestatiegerichte gaming-pc's en datacenteromgevingen voor server-booting, caching en logging.
De XG6-serie is verkrijgbaar in een compacte M.2 2280 single-sided vormfactor en wordt geleverd in drie capaciteitsmodellen van 256 GB, 512 GB en 1024 GB, elk met de optie van een zelfversleutelend station (SED)-model dat TCG Opal versie 2.01 ondersteunt.
